Each year on memorial day, we remember those who have passed on before us, but have enriched our lives and mean so much to us. I think it is also a good time to think of things we are thankful for and how much we probably take for granted. It is also a good time to remember those soldiers who have died for this country and those who are still over in Iraq fighting to preserve the freedoms we enjoy. One 16 year old is doing just that! Pennsylvania Country Artist Kortney Jean is donating 100% of the proceeds from the downloads of her song "Blowin in the Wind" from her new album "Never Been To La" to the troops through the "Connelsville Area Patriots", an organization featured by "Fox News" that raises money to help support the troops. Now i know some of you out there don't support the war effort and as an American you are free to choose but those that are serving in the military are over there because they were told to be over there. .They are only doing what they have been asked and commanded to do! They don't have the luxury of choice like you and I do! That kind of sacrifice demands our attention and respect. Having said all that, if you feel so compelled to do so go to Kortney Jeans site on Amazon.com or Itunes and download "Blowin in the Wind." Please make a comment on the page so we know who you are and can say thank you. I know Kortney thanks you but more important, so does that soldier in Iraq!

Wow! What an awesome thing to do. How unlike our culture of narcissism. That is what I love most about Country music and its stars—for the most part they are good Americans in the traditional sense. I have not heard this lady's music. But I will be hearing it now. Thank you.

Cool! Very great of her to do that, and I will download "Blowin in the Wind." (And I love that she's posing with a Seagull guitar--I play one of those!)
